< Brave;; After having been dropped by his partner from the high wire two years ago, most people wouldn't have gone near heights again, but not Zaknafain - he got right back up on his feet and continues to play about high up above the stands, having faced his fears and moved past them a long time ago. < Confident;; By no means does Zaknafain have any hesitation about himself, keeping intense faith about his own abilities, and while some could say that it's foolishness that often leads him to trot around on the high wire with no net below him or harness strapped to his body, but more often than not, this trait can lead him to being able to exude a certain charm that audiences just adore about the acrobat. < Playful;; If there's one thing that Zaknafain likes, it's engaging in some light banter, and he's a perpetual tease, always ready for a good game - whether it happens to be a bout of words, spells, or an actual game - and just the type to always give a bit of a challenge and when to sacrifice in order to make greater gains. < Dependable;; Despite his rather flighty nature, Zaknafain is surprisingly faithful, and when someone gets a promise out of him, they can rest assured that he will hold to his word, spending whatever outside time, money, and/or effort might be required in order to uphold his end of a bargain or finish his part of a project. < Mischievous;; Sure, Zaknafain's nature usually leads him to be quite the prankster, and he can get in and out of trouble easily, but it's never anything overly serious, and besides, he reasons, what's life without a little excitement anyway? < Easy-going;; If what you're doing isn't a danger to you or those around you and/or illegal, then Zaknafain probably won't have a problem with you doing it, and because of that, he's actually rather easy to get along with, not really someone who gets hung up over the small things that could possibly damage a relationship. > Impulsive;; When Zaknafain decides that something is a good idea, he doesn't always tend to think things through, instead blindly leaping forwards into it, and while this in and of itself can be a problem, when combined with a slight disregard for his own safety, it can get him seriously injured if he's not careful. > Reckless;; Unfortunately for his loved ones, Zaknafain is a bit of an adrenaline junkie, and while this has fueled a love of the high wire and for his high-flying acrobatics, it can also lead him to do a lot of "dangerous" things, such as practicing without a harness, because he gets a kick out of the danger, and the only one who could possibly bring him pause would be someone he truly cares about asking him to stop. > Flirtatious;; The bane of possessive lovers and awkwardly shy characters alike, Zaknafain has a habit of making passes at any blonds that happen to cross his path, thinking nothing of showing a bit of skin - though never the name written across his back, viewing that as a deeply personal thing for him - or hitting on any cute blonds, including Dawson, whom he had been chasing for a few years prior to the troupe's disbandment. > Stubborn;; Zaknafain is never the type to give up once he's gotten himself into something, very much the type to hate leaving something half-done, and that leads him to be quite huffy about having to change his mind about something, fond of snapping at people and nearly biting their heads off for even the slightest little expression of something that remotely resembles dissent. > Disrespectful;; It's not that Zaknafain actively tries to disobey authority, he really doesn't, but when he's told not to do something, he can become quite flippant if he doesn't think that what he's doing is wrong or unsafe, loud-mouthed and on a roll without really realizing that he may have crossed the line. > Unrelenting;; While ordinarily this trait would be a good one to have, in Zaknafain's hands it is undeniably a bad thing since it means he is rather fond of pushing someone's limits, even when they're frightened, and as might be imagined, he will sometimes even push boundaries too far and bring someone to confront something they're not ready to. |

> Zaknafain was originally an acrobat for a small circus troupe that was forced to disband two years ago following a lack of money and left him with few other job options than to become a stunt double for movies. However, when the ringmaster's son asked him to come back, he agreed without a second thought. > Zaknafain is a Fighter for the unit Weightless, the name of which appears scrawled in a line down his spine. He is often claimed to be the other half of one Sora Himura, an old member of the circus troupe, but this is a lie since his other half is Dawson Knight, although they have not officially bonded as a unit since he had thought he was not part of that lifestyle until the name appeared on his body a year ago. > Considering Zaknafain's flirtatious nature, is it unsurprising that he's lost his ears? Surprisingly though, he lost them when he was fifteen to another, older member of the circus, whom he kept up a sexual relationship with until the troupe split apart. He is intensely attracted to blonds, finding them insanely sexy, and despite claiming that he is "blondsexual", the more traditional label that applies is bisexual. < Zaknafain's parents were a pair of travelling stage magicians, and as such, the boy's earliest memories are not very solid since he can never quite manage to pin down the place. The first place he solidly anchors to a memory was sitting backstage at some place in Vegas while his parents performed. He went around the world with his small family, never having a permanent home during the entire first twelve years of his life, and as a result, he didn't have a lot of friends that he would keep for long aside from those who lived a similar life. During his twelfth year of life, his parents became part of the travelling circus group based in Clearwater, and although they would still venture onto the mainland, for the first time, Zak would return to somewhere that he called home. While there, he became friendly with the ringmaster's son, a boy named Dawson Knight. Zak soon developed a crush on Dawson, which encouraged him to take an interest in becoming an acrobat to catch the other's attention. His parents left him to learn, and by the time he was fourteen, he was skilled enough on the high wire to become part of the act. He and Dawson often performed together, the duo a good compliment to each other, and then it happened. One day during practice, when Zaknafain was sixteen, Dawson came up just a little short in catching the younger, and Zak ended up falling to earth. Even if the net caught him, Dawson was so haunted by the failure that the duo was over, firmed by Dawson having taken a job handling ticket sales. No matter how much Zak - who had lost his ears to his mentor a year prior when he'd thought he would never have the other - pleaded, Dawson wouldn't come back, and it was around this time that Zak began to hit on the other. This pattern continued for the next two years, when Dawson's father suddenly passed away from a heart attack. The circus dream was over, and with the troupe's funds significantly cut into, it was obvious that they couldn't continue. The group decided to disband before they were broke, sharing what they had and leasing the animals to various places as everyone went their separate ways. Zaknafain got a job as a stunt double for the movie business, but he missed the circus and he missed Dawson with an intensity that not even the discovery of his unit name a year after the event could dull. And then, one day, he got a call from Sora Himura, the old lion-tamer and a friend who he had remained in touch with. Dawson had enough money to try to get the circus back together, and he was looking for the old members. Without thinking twice about it, Zak quit his job as a stunt double and rejoined the circus under the new ringmaster, hopeful that he would get to show Dawson his feelings this time, as well as maybe even find his Sacrifice. After all, it's a new dream, so why couldn't he begin it with high hopes? |
